The Pennsic Wars HUGE event hosted by the Society for Creative Anachronism during the month of August. Best described as a two-week Renaissance fair without the tourists.
Dagorhir Dagorhir Improvisational Wargames, another group dedicated to re-enacting medieval combat and lifestyle. Not nearly as stuffy as the SCA.
Kingdom of Pentwyvern The Cleveland, Ohio and vicinity chapter of Dagorhir. Events include battles, combat practices, feasts, weapons and costume making, and much more. Almost as much politicking as the SCA, but with a slightly smaller chance of concussion and broken limbs- unless you're fighting the Aratari.
Dalhraidia A dark-age Celtic group, and one of our bog neighbors at Pennsic. Don't worry about the human skulls around their camp- we don't THINK that they're real...
Clan Teaghlach "Clan Teaghlach is a mercenary fighting group based in the Yougstown, Ohio area..." Blah Blah Blah. Fact of the matter is that they're good folks, good neighbors, and they have a damn nice looking gate. Like most of the Bog-types, they're a tight knit group whom we don't hang out with nearly enough. Perhaps the Tequila tasting night should become an E27 tradition? Meet your neighbors... and get stinkin' drunk with them... :-)
Boke of Gode Cookery On-line recipe book of period medieval dishes and instructions for preparing and presenting a medieval feast. Fairly extensive and SCA-oriented, but still worth checking out :-)

Cantaria Cantaria is a learning library of bardic songs. This library currently contains lyrics for over 80 songs, most with accompanying sound clips of the songs being performed. Okay, that's the site's own plug. Actually, it does contain a large and well-organized database of "period" as well as bawdy/party/drinking songs. Little stuffy, but definitely worth a look.

Virtual Ireland Decent site for information and links about Ireland and Celtic culture. Learn to speak Gaelic!
Celtic.Com An "on-line Celtic community" (Requires registration, but it's not too obnoxious). The really cool feature is that you can get free email with your choice of Irish/Celtic domains! Example: yourname@failte.com, yourname@eire.com etc. Sorry, the "@wulfden.net" domain is not one of the options. :-)
Aon Celtic Art Nice site with some free Celtic web art for your personal pages. Also has a great book review section and on-line tutorials in some aspects of basic Celtic design.

Irish Abroad Great "strictly Irish" site. Has a lot of recipes, book reviews, links to other Irish sites and more. This is a terrific place to start if you're looking for Irish information on the web.
Ceolas The Ceolas celtic music archive. They claim to house "the largest online collection of information on celtic music", and I have no reson to doubt it. Their database is, in a word, huge. From tunebooks to MIDI's to tourdates, it's a fantastic reference for anyone interested in celtic music. They even have some sample clips from different artists, but they're all in RealAudio format. I try not to hold that against them...

The Luminarium This is the Irish section of Luminarium.org, which itself is a pretty amazing resource for the historically/mythologically minded. The Irish links section is truly impressive; historical figures, authors, language, mythology... and the list goes on. Good site to lose an evening browsing...
The Celtic Center A nice links site for celtic/irish shopping. Most of the links are for retail sites, but there are also a number of resources for music and fesitval dates/locations. Site seems well maintained, and provides an option to sign up and get your own celtic-themed site listed.
World of Celtic Art Another site offering free celtic graphics for personal non-commercial use. One of the highlights of this site is the excellent section on celtic tattooing- good pictures, decent historical background, and numerous links. Arachnoid Homepage Homepage of Arachnophila, a free HTML editor. Site contains a lot of interesting stuff- check out "Why is the Sky Dark at Night?". The software is "careware", a pretty cool concept in and of itself.
Encyclopedia Mythica This you HAVE to check out! Ever wonder about that passing reference to Cuchulainn? Somebody once mention the Fish Knight? If it's mythological, they've got it here. Fantastic resource for information on all types of mythological creatures, places and people. Definitely worth a look.
Shanties and Sea Songs Having a hard time remembering the words to Where the Coho Flash Silver or The Mingalay Boat Song ? No, I didn't think so. But if you were, you could head over to this site and find probably the largest collection of sea songs and shanties available on the Internet. Y'know, If you're into that sort of thing. *ahem*.
Tripping The Rift Okay, this has absolutely nothing to do with the whole medieval genre, but it is damn funny! Imagine a sorta NC17-rated Star Wars animated parody starring the voices of Stephen Root (Talk Radio) and Terry Farrell (Deep Space 9 and Becker). It's a BIG download for us dial-up types (35 megs!) but it is sooooooooo worth it. BTW, I will not be held responsible for the moral corruption of your children, spouse or pets...
Trainspotting The complete original script for the movie Trainspotting. You know, that uplifting film starring Ewan McGregor about the joys of heroin addiction and being Scottish... yeah, that one.
